TouristsHow does the quiz work?
The quiz asks 5 questions about how you want to live the sea: style of outing, company, nautical ambition, budget and experience level. Based on your answers, we compute an affinity score between you and every available boat. You can retake it any time from the tourist dashboard.
TouristsDo I need a boating licence?
It depends on the boat. Each listing clearly states whether a licence is required or whether a professional skipper is included. You can filter results to see only licence-free boats.
TouristsCan I bring pets?
Some hosts welcome small pets. You'll find a "Pet-friendly" filter among the search options, and the policy is shown clearly on each boat's page.
TouristsHow do I contact the host?
After confirming the booking, an internal chat with the host opens. You can ask about logistics, marina directions, and share the list of guests.
BookingsCan I cancel my booking?
Yes, with a flexible policy: • Up to 48 hours before: full refund. • Between 48 and 24 hours: 50% refund. • In the final 24 hours: no refund except in case of bad weather certified by the marina meteorological office.
BookingsWhat happens if there's bad weather?
If the marina or the Coast Guard issues a weather alert preventing a safe outing, the host can cancel the booking: you automatically get a full refund or move the date at no extra cost.
BookingsCan I change the date after booking?
Yes, up to 7 days before the outing you can request a date change from the "My bookings" section. The host confirms within 24 hours or proposes an alternative.
PaymentsWhich payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and SEPA. Payments go through Stripe with 3D Secure encryption.
PaymentsWhen is the payment charged?
At the moment of booking confirmation. Funds are held by Stripe and released to the host only after check-in, so you're protected until the outing starts.
PaymentsDo I receive an invoice?
Yes, for every booking you receive a receipt by email. If you request an Italian electronic invoice (fattura elettronica), you can provide your VAT number and recipient code at checkout: the host issues it through their integrated accounting system.
SafetyAre hosts verified?
Yes. Every owner completes the Stripe Connect verification with ID document, IBAN and (for skippered boats) nautical credentials. Every host profile shows the "Verified" badge.
SafetyIs my data safe?
We handle your data under GDPR. You can download, edit or delete your account at any time from Settings > Delete account. We don't sell data to third parties. Full details in the Privacy Policy.
SafetyIs there insurance?
Every boat on Fallinboat is covered by the owner's mandatory third-party liability insurance. Some hosts also offer extended hull insurance: you'll see it on the boat page.
HostsHow much does it cost to list?
Listing is free. You pay an 18% commission only when you receive a confirmed booking. No activation fee, no monthly subscription.
HostsHow quickly do I get paid?
Stripe payouts are automatic every 3 days. The first one may take up to 7 days for initial bank verification. You can change the cadence from your Stripe dashboard.
HostsCan I manage multiple boats on the same account?
Yes. You create a single host account and list as many boats as you want. The calendar is independent per boat but the messages inbox and reports are unified.
HostsCan I decide which bookings to accept?
Yes. You can set instant accept (automatic) or manual mode: you receive the request, review the tourist's profile and accept within 24 hours.
